Putting this together is easier then you would think, I wouldn’t call this a recipe, but more of a pairing idea if you want to enjoy burrata at home with a restaurant feel. So let’s get started and go over what you’ll need for this particular set.
| Amount | Unit | Ingredient |
| 2 | Piece | 4 oz Truffle Burrata |
| 1 | Piece | Baguette |
| 1 | Pint | Cherry Tomatoes |
| 1 | Pint | Cremini Mushrooms |
| ½ | Piece | Spanish Onion |
| 1 | Clove | Garlic |
| ¼ | Cup | EVOO |
| 1 | TBSP | Salt |
| 1/2 | TBSP | Pepper |
| 2 | TSP | Balsamic Glaze |
Prep the crostini
- Set you oven to Broil high… let that heat up for a bit.
- cut your Baguette on a bias in ⅓” slices.
- Place them on a Sheet Pan. Brush each piece with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Place tray in the oven and toast until golden brown and crispy on the edges, this should take 1-3 minutes. This goes by really quick so be careful, it’s so easy to burn.
- Take your crostini out of the oven and with the garlic clove, make sure it’s peeled, rub in on one side of the crostini giving it a nice garlic flavor.

Time for flavor pairing prep… I like only using one pan, it works relatively well and super easy.
- Prep your veggies, by slicing your mushrooms and onions, keep them separate because you will be cooking them individually.
- Place your sauté pan on high heat add about a tsp of Olive oil, let heat, then add your mushrooms, sauté them until they start to caramelize before adding a pinch of salt and pepper. about 3-6 minutes. Once done set aside.
- Add more oil to the pan and add your sliced onion to the pan, cook them until they caramelize but make sure they don’t burn or turn to mush. About 4-6 minutes. Set aside with the mushrooms.
- Now add your cherry tomatoes, you don’t need to add oil, giving your tomatoes a dry roast or sauté will give them a slight charred flavor that I think mimics roasted tomato sauce in a single tomato. Swirl the pan to keep the tomatoes moving every once in a while. When you get some char cover with a lid to steam them slightly to soften. This process should take about 3-4 minutes all together.
- Mix everything into a bowl and your good to go on the sides.
Let’s build our plate, this should take less then 1 minute now that your have everything set and ready to go.
- On two plates separate the mixture of veggies and crostini.
- Place one ball of burrata on each plate, you can rip them open to have the filling exposed. I find that it looks more rustic and pretty this way. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil and the balsamic glaze.
- Now enjoy.
This should be enough to feed two for dinner or 4 for a shared appetizer… I don’t like to share burrata so I always take the dinner Portion
Some tips if you have dietary restrictions.
- Gluten free- Go for a gluten free Baguette or gluten free cracker. You never have to use the exact thing I have with it if you don’t want to, it’s just a recommendation.
- Dairy free…. I guess you’re S.O.L on this one.
P.S. This crushed my Pizza craving….
